Cloud estates rarely get designed. They accumulate — a subscription here because a project needed it, storage there because someone had an account, a server that was only ever meant to be temporary. Each piece works. Nobody can tell you what the whole thing costs or who can reach it.

Bringing them under one administration is most of the value. It means one place to see what is running, one place to change who has access, and one bill that can be reconciled against what the business actually uses.

The point of cloud is that capacity arrives when the business needs it rather than when a purchase order clears. That only holds if somebody is watching the trend rather than the current number.

The other half is the part nobody enjoys: finding what is running and should not be. Resources outlive the projects that created them, and an unattended estate quietly bills for all of it.

We start by finding out what you have, which is usually more than expected. Then we agree what moves, what is rebuilt, and what is simply switched off.

The move itself is scheduled for when it costs you least — most often a weekend, so that Monday is the first anyone notices. Moving 86 mailboxes and seven years of files over a weekend is the sort of thing we do; the only change anyone should notice is that search finally works.

Something always turns up mid-move — a mailbox twice the size anyone expected, a legacy app with a hard-coded server name, a licence that has to be sorted before anything can be copied. That is normal, and it is why the plan is agreed before the weekend rather than during it.
