Cybersecurity and protection for Australian businesses

Endpoint security, Microsoft 365 protection, patching, access controls and regular security assessments, checked on a schedule rather than after something has already gone wrong.

Found before it is a headline

Most breaches do not begin with anything sophisticated. They begin with something small left unpatched, an account that should have been closed months ago, or a permission granted once for a reason nobody remembers.

None of those are hard to find. They are only hard to find if nobody is looking, which is why the looking is scheduled rather than prompted by an incident.

What is actually checked

Endpoint protection across the devices your team works on. Microsoft 365 configured so that its security features are switched on and doing something. Patching, so that known problems stop being your problems. Access controls, so that leaving the company means leaving the systems.

And assessments on a schedule, because an environment that was secure last year is describing last year.

Security as part of the environment

Security bolted onto an environment somebody else administers is mostly guesswork. When the same team runs the cloud, the mail and the devices, the controls can be built into how those things are set up rather than inspected from outside.

If you need to work to a particular framework — the ACSC Essential Eight is the usual one for Australian businesses — we will tell you plainly where the environment sits against it today before anything is promised about where it could get to.

Most breaches start with something small left unpatched. We make sure that's not yours.

Common questions

How often are security assessments carried out?

On a schedule agreed with you rather than in response to an incident. For most businesses that means a full review each quarter, with patching and endpoint monitoring running continuously in between.

Do you secure Microsoft 365 specifically?

Yes. Microsoft 365 protection is part of the work, alongside endpoint security, patching and access controls.

We have been breached. Can you help?

Call us. The first job is containment — cutting off access, locking down accounts and stopping it spreading — then working out what was reached and what has to be rebuilt. If the incident needs reporting to the OAIC or your insurer, we will help you get that right too.

Is this useful for a small business, or only larger ones?

The things that cause most breaches — unpatched software, stale accounts, loose permissions — are no less common in a small business, and no harder to fix.
